Olive Academies is delighted to announce that The Kingsfield Centre Pupil Referral Unit completed the academy conversion process on 1st June 2017 and has become part of the Olive Academies multi-academy trust. The Kingsfield Centre will now be known as Olive AP Academy – Suffolk (Central).
Olive Academies has worked in partnership with Suffolk County Council managing The Kingsfield Centre since September 2016. The partnership’s shared aim has been to improve the quality of alternative provision offered to pupils in Suffolk. Olive Academies (OA) is delighted to be able to continue this work as the centre formally joins the OA family of alternative provision academies.
Olive AP Academy – Suffolk (Central) will continue to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for pupils aged 7–16 who are referred to the academy for a range of reasons; they may be permanently excluded from mainstream school, have a medical condition that prevents them from attending school or have been placed at the academy for a period of intervention work and assessment. OA-SC will continue to operate across two sites in Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket.
Mark Vickers, Chief Executive, Olive Academies said:
“I believe that Olive AP Academy – Suffolk (Central) will be an excellent alternative provision academy, supporting local schools and the community. Olive Academies is committed to ensuring that young people are able to reach their potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. I am delighted that the centre has joined our multi-academy trust and I look forward to continuing our work with children and young people in Suffolk, giving them the best chances to succeed in their education and personal development.”
